Thursday 21st February saw the first CollegeCollege breakfast being hosted in Pietermaritzburg, and what better venue than the Kent Pavilion at Maritzburg College!
CollegeConnect is an initiative aimed at linking College Old Boys together from a business and networking perspective, providing a forum for young, recently graduated OCs to be mentored by fellow Old Boys and also to actively provide a platform for the employment of College Old Boys within the Old Boys’ network.
During the latter part of 2018 similar breakfasts were successfully hosted in both Johannesburg and Cape Town and the vision was always to extend these events to Pietermaritzburg during 2019.
Approximately 35 guests joined us for a “meet and greet” and a superb College breakfast catered by the school’s trusted service provider, Granny Macs, who also operate the school’s dining facility and provide our College boarders with fine food and fare that is the envy of many of our guests and local rivals.
The CollegeConnect breakfasts are a monthly event hosted in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg. Any Old Boy is welcome to attend but booking is required as places are limited.
The events provide guests with the opportunity to share a “30second CV” on their businesses or professions and to connect, network and share business ideas and opportunities. The fact that these events are not used as marketing or fundraising events by the school and associated bodies really adds different dynamic and energy to these morning gatherings.
Our Cape Town CollegeConnect breakfast takes place on Wednesday 27 February and booking can be done online .
Our March events take place (DV) on 20 March 2019. For further information and enquiries please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or Andrew Soden on 083 456 1092
